[ Wherever you were before, you're not there anymore. This incredibly creative and original premise is the start of your interdimensional journey, and you're starting here, in Sitihir—inside of a large Starbucks, to be precise.

Everyone inside the Starbucks today has been gifted with a nametag that reads as follows:

HELLO! My name is _______

But whatever is in that blank is most certainly not your name! Perhaps it's an obscure nickname, or something rude, or something flattering! Either way, you're not leaving this Starbucks until you've given your actual name to at least four other visitors, so have fun.

Once you've completed your task, a barista will hand you a welcoming letter:

Welcome to Sitihir! We apologize for the sudden glitch in the system but please take this opportunity to explore the vast world (worlds!) we have to offer you. Should you find it to your liking, you are welcome to stay for as long as you want. If you are itching to return to your home, there is a map on the back of this sheet that will guide you there. Thank you for visiting Sitihir, and may all of your travels be blessed! ~The Programmers

And so there is indeed a map to your character's home world's door on the back, free for them to return to at any time. ]

[ he has to think for a minute, and he can't really place a specific year, but he gets the gist of it. ]

[ roleplayer? cosplayer? kaoru (understandably) does not seem to know the meanings of those things, so he casts around for another word. ]

[Kaoru's less the 'curl up and cry' type, more the 'find out who's responsible and make them pay' type. But he has no leads at all, and he's confused and lost, as much as he tries not to show it too much.]

I could say the same about you - and many of the people here. This sort of place is familiar to you, then?

[It might as well be an alien planet to Kaoru, not that he knows what aliens are.]

I have an idea, but I can't be sure...

[ a vague idea to the effect of "rumors" and "philemon's fuckery" but he's not sure how he'd even explain that to someone who already knew his situation, much less this poor lost time traveler. ]

Perhaps the "how" is less important than the "why".

Do you have an idea about the why, then?

[Since Kaoru can see absolutely no good reason to bring them all here. Wherever here is. Starbucks planet, for all he knows.]

For my part, I know I'm not supposed to be here. Not like this, anyway... I was supposed to end up in a new world. But if I still have my memories, then something has gone wrong... and I'm not sure what the point would be in bringing along strangers from the past.

Then it probably isn't because of - whatever is happening with you. You and I have no connection, after all, so there would be no reason for me to be involved.

[He looks around.]

Or most of these others, either. I have no idea who they are.

[ haha, well, most people don't have anything to do with jun but that doesn't mean they weren't involved somehow. but he lets that drop because it's not like he wants to go making enemies or share his story with people who might hate him for it if he doesn't have to. ]

[Naturally, Kaoru doesn't trust him at all. But he seems to know more about how things work here than Kaoru does, and that's both important and useful. He doesn't really want to accept help, especially from someone so strange, but for the moment it's the best thing to do.]
